Cozumel 2025 went so well we're doing it again!
Join me in Cozumel to explore some of Mexico’s best reefs, wrecks, macro sites, and blackwater diving. With crystal-clear water, vibrant marine life, towering reefs, dramatic walls, and world-class drift dives, Cozumel is an underwater paradise - and a quickly rising hotspot for blackwater diving.
Diving: All daytime dives are on a private charter with two expert local guides: Lead Photo Guide Pedro Valencia (6,000+ Cozumel dives) and Milly Marinho (7 years guiding in Cozumel). No early departures—we’ll head out around 9:30–10 a.m., enjoy relaxed dive times, and stay underwater as long as gas safely allows. Expect rays, turtles, nurse sharks, groupers, stingrays, angelfish, sergeant majors, and plenty of macro life.
At night, we’ll choose between a reef dive or an unforgettable blackwater dive. Blackwater diving lets you drift for ~90 minutes beside a lit 60-foot downline as billions of zooplankton migrate upward, drawing in jellyfish, larval fish, squid, salps, and more. It’s a dream for photographers and a magical experience even without a camera. All blackwater dives will be on a group charter led by Marelux Senior Brand Ambassador Rob Stansfield of Blackwater Cozumel.
Accommodations: We will be staying beachfront at one of my favorite hotels, Presidente Intercontinental Cozumel, an IHG resort. The hotel is perfectly situated right next to the marina and we will be picked up directly at the hotel dock. Presidente is a luxurious, high-end, 5 star beachfront resort with all the amenities we would want; 2 swimming pools, 4 restaurants, daily buffet breakfast, tennis courts, spa and more. The food on site is excellent and we will be a quick $10 taxi away from town.
Marelux VIP: As a Marelux VIP partner, Atlantis Divers brings the latest Marelux underwater photo gear on every trip. Test-drive top equipment like Apollo III Strobes, Apollo S Strobes, Lumilink optical transmitter, various diopters and wet lenses and the SOFT snoot!
